Because the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, the Robert family, deeply rooted in Rougemont for decades, turned their dream into reality, bringing together their passion for wine and their experience in apple growing to create Coteau Rougemont.
The Robert family
When the Robert family acquired this enchanting site, they were unknowingly fulfilling an old dream of Rosario, father of Claude and grandfather of Michel, Julie and Isabelle. A truck driver and apple grower, Rosario used to stop his truck at the top of the hill to admire the view, and cherished the desire to own this orchard and be able to enjoy the view as he pleased. It was with the same earthy values that Claude approached his children to share his dream, his vision. Together, the family decided to acquire this large orchard and plant a few thousand vines to embark on the fabulous adventure of viticulture. The Coteau Rougemont vineyard was born in 2007. From the time the first vines were planted to the present day, the vineyard has developed in a spirit of quality and pride.
Our vision
Born of an unconditional love of wine and cider from every angle, the Coteau Rougemont vineyard's raison d'être lies first and foremost in the quality of its products. With its 100% Quebec origin and rich history, the vineyard's vision is simple: to offer quality products around which unforgettable moments are created. The health of the vines, the monitoring of harvests, the rigor applied in the various stages of vinification, the passion and love of wine are all characteristics that are perceptible when tasting a Coteau Rougemont product. Viticultural techniques are always being reviewed to ensure consistency and quality.
A team story
Because every story begins with a beginning, it was the Robert family who, during the first presses, took it in turns to oversee fermentation, day and night. Little by little, several enthusiasts joined the team and contributed to the story. Their expertise has made the winery what it is today, a benchmark for Quebec cider and wine.
From yesterday to today
First vine
In 2008, the Robert family took action and planted their first vineyard of Frontenac gris.
First bottle and awards
In 2010, the dream becomes reality. The first bottling is inaugurated. Since then, our products have won a host of awards and distinctions.
Arrival at the SAQ
The turning point for Coteau Rougemont, the products are now available to the general public at SAQs across Quebec.
First million bottles sold
In 2017, the winery reached its wildest goal, selling its first million bottles.
